Suspects sought in connection to $500,000 theft from Lions Bay home

RCMP are seeking the public’s help in locating two suspects they believe were involved in stealing more than $500,000 worth of goods from a Lions Bay home last month.

In the Feb. 17 heist, Squamish Mounties say someone made off with more than half a million dollars worth of money, jewellery, Persian rugs, laptops, passports, and other expensive items from a residence within the small community.

Included among the stolen items were Iranian gold coins, persian rugs,  24 carat gold old Persian kingdom earrings, necklace, ring and bracelet set, along with personal documentation such as passports, wills, and deeds to the residence.

“This isn’t just a theft of items, these were family heirlooms and had significant sentimental value.  The family is extremely distraught over the loss,” said Corp. Sascha Banks of the Squamish RCMP.

The homeowner’s vehicle, a 2003 grey Toyota Camry with BC licence plate 602 JEP, was also stolen.
